There are steps forward and back. There are branches in different directions. There are things that happen subtly, beneath the surface that aren't immediately recognized or are misunderstood.
Yoga has an amazing history in terms of its evolution. It's philosophies, spiritual tenets, leaders, followers, and the science behind pranayama and asana are complex and amazing. It's also essential to study these in order to show respect for the practices and their origins.
The underlying science is something I'm particularly fascinated by; it's also an important area of study for practitioners. Like our understanding of science itself, our knowledge of what yoga does to our bodies has evolved. We know far more now, and some false information still persists. This book covers those and kore5.
The book captured my attention. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was never bored. It also aided me in adding to my reading list with great new titles I'm sure will be very enlightening.
